TYPE DESIGN

Fillmore is a variable serif font with 8 different weights. It was designed within five weeks 


PROJECT BRIEF
Fillmore was designed within 5-weeks during the summer course at Type@Paris. It was inspired by classic typefaces from the 1970s, it captures the groovy, cheerful spirit of that era through expressive letterforms. Its defining features include soft, rounded shapes built on a square structure, with a distinctive bell-bottom flair in the heavier display weights. Designed primarily for display use, Fillmore brings a warm, human, and analog feel to any visual composition.

Moodboard & Inspiration

Bursting with psychedelic charm and bold color, it’s playful, dynamic, and full of groovy, unrestrained exuberance.





Initial Sketches

The process began with freely sketching letterforms inspired by the moodboard references. These initial drawings were then refined to enhance the curves and shapes before being digitized.
